Welcome to the 2010 Lake Tahoe School Summer Series - a summer camp experience for kids 6-14! The summer of 2010 promises to be the brightest yet at Lake Tahoe School. In its fourth season, the camp continues to grow! In addition to the wonderful activities and adventures from years past, we are offering classes like Needle and Sewing Crafts, Science in the Outdoors and a Computer Music Workshop. We are also replacing the 6-8 year old biking trip with a Mini-Golf adventure!
Along with the changes to our day camps this year, we are offering two new overnight trips: a Yosemite Adventure and a Kayak Camping Voyage on Lake Tahoe! We have retained our traditional High Sierra Rock Climbing Adventure where campers stay at a lodge on Donner Summit and rock climb for four days, but now campers can sign up to kayak from DL Bliss campground to Emerald Bay or travel to Yosemite and explore the park! So many new opportunities for fun!
The Science in the Outdoors course is our newest science-specific camp. After reflecting on past years, we have created a science-oriented curriculum that is more dedicated to conservation and the study of our local Tahoe surroundings while maintaining the intensity of creative thinking and hands-on learning. This course will give campers an opportunity to study the lake from the water. Led by local educators, this course is sure to keep campers engaged! Also new this year is our online registration procedure. The new program provides quick and easy online registration. Some forms may need to be printed, filled-out and brought to the office on the first day of camp, but gone are the days of spending 30 minutes to fill out forms on the first day! Simply add the camps you wish to participate in to your shopping cart, follow the instructions and eagerly await the start of summer!
